Hand to Hand 2.1

I am fond of this little camera- 95% found items. I practice an arcane art; tracking. I find and see things others don’t. I find owl castings in tall grass.

I have never found and arrow head. I mentioned this once in a Pennsylvania field and one of the guys with whom I’m hunting says “Like this” as he bends down and comes up with a beautiful little white one.

On the Media- Impact of the Internet

Well worth perusing vis the impact of the internet on governments’ ability to control information. The Dilemma is- the same tech items that enable business enable dissent. There is also an interesting meander exploring “Social Media” ie Facebook and business interests vs social consciousness.

Executions should be televised

In Mobile Updates on July 31, 2011 at 12:50 pm

” Yet a functioning democracy demands maximum accountability and transparency. As long as executions remain behind closed doors, those are impossible.”
Absolutely- and somewhere I have an old skit discussing how the legislators should be executioners- I’ll try and find it.

Unions

In Work on July 25, 2011 at 9:04 pm

From my old bud Tom D, years ago.
This is how unions work.
You’re sitting on your porch one day admiring your lawn and a guy comes down the street and comments that the lawn looks good. You tell him the kid next door cuts it for $ 20/wk and he shakes his head ruefully. Then he tells you that the kid will no longer be able to cut the lawn but that he’s going to provide a guy to do it for $50/wk. And you tell him that this doesn’t work and thanks but no thanks you’ll cut your own lawn. And he chuckles and explains that this is no longer on the options board.
